London Fashion Week/Day 4 at Somerset House

Dear Diary,

I can`t believe that LFW is over... It was THE experience! I feel so lucky that my dream came true! One more post and sadly, the last one regarding LFW...
Since I`ve already told you what Fashion Week is about,  I think it`s time to talk about the place that hosted LFW, Somerset House.
Somerset House is a large Neoclassical building situated on the south side of the Strand in central London, overlooking the River Thames, just east of Waterloo Bridge. The building, originally the site of a Tudor palace, was designed by Sir William Chambers in 1776, and further extended with Victorian wings to the north and south. The East Wing forms part of the adjacent King's College London.
This time, I definitely took pride in my appearance, since LFW street catwalk is what everyone is looking forward to... You want to grasp as much attention as possible. I had photographers take pics of me, TV hosts from Fashion TV interview me...and much more!
What do you think about my outfit?

Memories, memories...memories.

Tons of kisses,

London Fashion Week/Day 3 at Somerset House

 Dear Diary,

I`m busy, busy, busy....busy, did I say busy? Good!
There are so many things that I have to do and so many places to be that I run like crazy around London.
I don`t know who and what I am...a multifaceted person, huh? Maybe that`s who I am, cause there are so many things that one Litsiana is not enough...
I left the MA student/teacher to relax for a while, whilst the blogger and fashion edict went to London Fashion Week since I had given a promise to myself ; I`ve missed LFW in September, I won`t miss the next one. And as a promise keeper, I went to LFW and it was A W E S O M E! I stroke some poses, I made new international friends and yes, there was no need of either a coat or a fur cause the weather was glorious!
What is LFW?It`s a clothing trade show held in London twice per year, in February and September and it`s considered to be one of the "Big Four " fashion weeks , along with New York, Milan and Paris Fashion Week. The current venue of the events was Somerset House which hosted a series of catwalk shows.
I do like catwalks and I`ve been to many the last seven years but for me, the best fashion show is in the streets.
LFW is about crazy, weird, mix and mach, mix that don`t match, etc outfits. So, beware of the photos that are coming.....

I can`t wait until my next post....
You`ll be speechless!
Kisses and love*

Tower Bridge

Dear Diary,

As I was listening to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_cVqYC-45Y (London Bridge by Fergie) the other day, an idea crossed my mind; how about visiting and taking pics on London Bridge? Well, I payed a visit over there but to be honest it`s not breathtaking compared and contrasted to Tower Bridge. So, I set off to destination 2 and here I am guys! I just love this place cause it gives you the impression that it comes out of a fairytale book about kings, queens, princesses and knights fighting over London and true Love... I`m a romantic kind of girl...You can tell!

Some more info about the place: Tower Bridge (built 1886–1894) is a bridge in London which crosses the River Thames. It is close to the Tower of London, from which it takes its name, and has become an iconic symbol of London.
The bridge consists of two towers tied together at the upper level by means of two horizontal walkways; the bridge's present color scheme dates from 1977, when it was painted red, white and blue for Queen Elizabeth II's silver jubilee. Originally it was painted a mid greenish-blue color.
Plus the view from the bridge is amazing and you can have a closer look at impressive state-of-art structures like the St. Mary Axe (a building in the shape of an egg), the City Hall, etc.

That`s all for now. Hope you liked it!
New adventures are coming soon!
Kisses,
Litsiana. K

Camden/ Stable Market

Dear Diary,

Sundays are for getting some rest and for doing things that you can`t do on weekdays. So, I decided to go to Camden and particularly to  the Stable Market. Today`s photographer is Renate Marcus and I want to thank her for being patient and extra creative despite the adverse weather conditions. Not only was the weather rainy, it was also windy and cold making the shooting difficult but the result is rewarding.

The Camden markets are a number of adjoining large retail markets in Camden.  Among products sold on the stalls are crafts, clothing, bric-a-brac, and fast food. It is the fourth-most popular visitor attraction in London, attracting approximately 100,000 people each weekend. The markets originally operated on Sundays only, which continues to be the main trading day. Opening later extended to Saturdays for most of the market. A number of traders, mainly those in fixed premises, operate throughout the week, although the weekend remains the peak period.

In common with most of the other Camden markets the Stables Market has many clothes stalls. It is also the main focus for furniture in the markets. Household goods, decorative, ethnically-influenced items, and second-hand items or 20th-century antiques, many of them hand-crafted, are among the wares. There are also clothing and art pieces for alternative sub-cultures, such as goths and cybergoths. These shops include Black Rose, which caters for goths, with items such as coffin-shaped handbags, and Cyberdog, which houses much cyber-style "neon" PVC and rubber clothing.

Many pics, huh? But I wanted to show you what a great time we had there and how good a photographer Renate is. For more about her work, click here: http://streetcoquette.tumblr.com/
