Litsi, the explorer/ Crystal Palace Park

Dear Diary,

Every day is getting hotter and hotter and I was ice and now, I`m melting, lol!
I tried to find an oasis to spend my Saturday and I did find something totally different. A park that has nothing to do with the other parks I have introduced to on my previous post. A park that brings together and gives you an insight into  different eras....
I`m talking about Crystal Palace Park! Have you ever heard of it? Have you ever been there? If yes, you know what I`m talking about. If not, it`s worth visiting guys!

Crystal Palace Park is a Victorian pleasure ground, used for cultural and sporting events. It`s located in the south-east London suburb of Crystal Palace, which was in turn named after The Crystal Palace which had been moved from Hyde Park after the 1851 Great Exhibition and rebuilt with some modifications and enlargements to form the centrepiece of the pleasure ground, before being destroyed by fire in 1936. The park features full scale models of dinosaurs in a landscape, four models of the great sphinx of Giza or are they Egyptian Pharaohs?!?!?! (any contribution is welcome) , one of the biggest maze in Britain, lakes, 'Eiffel Towers'and a concert bowl.

Apart from all these, I`d like to add on the list a little ice-cream cart/van that made me the happiest girl! It serves the yummiest sorbet I `ve ever tried. Two scoops of sorbet: bubblegum and lemon satisfied my hunger and thirst! Sloup, sloup!

They say that variety is the spice of life! So, try to make it as spicy as possible!!!!
That`s for now!
Until the next post, spice it up loves!
Kisses and hugs,
Litsiana K.

Draycott Place

Dear Diary,

Look what I found in my files....Some pics from the beginning of July... I had completely forgotten them until I accidentally flicked through them today. I was looking for some new ones so as to update you but then, I realised that not much happened in between this and the previous post.
As you can see, I`m not always in a constant wander around London. Sorry for giving you the wrong impression or perhaps, you might have misjudged me, huh?
Well, in my neighbourhood, there is this street which comprises brick-made houses and I really like it cause it`s different to any other nearby or even further away. The place is called 'DRAYCOTT PLACE' and there is one particular building which has traditional and neo-classical furnishings and attracts your attention in a sec; San Domenico House. Formerly known as Sloane Hotel until 2006, it`s a 5-star hotel, a small boutique hotel located just off Kings Road in Chelsea.

Write to you soon!
Cheers!
Litsiana K.

Summer on the island Part 3 /Brighton

Dear Diary,

One time is never enough when you are having the time of your summer life...
Brighton here I come again!
I was looking forward to visiting Brighton again, cause not much happened in between my first and second visit.  As I gave you my promise, I did explore the town and you can`t imagine the beauty that is hidden in the picturesque streets and parks. Yet, I have not spent the amount of time wanted so as to have a proper look at the place since my mind and heart are at the beach near the breathtaking pier and wheel!
Well, a few things about Brighton as I didn`t say anything last time.
Brighton is a town ?!?!?!?!?!? and not a city as I thought so....Mmmmm! It`s on the south coast of Great Britain and it makes up to the half of the city and unitary authority of Brighton and Hove. It consists of a number of amazing landmarks such as the 'Royal Pavilion', 'Brighton Marine Palace and Pier', 'Brighton clocktower', the 'Brighton Wheel', the 'Grand Hotel' and the 'Brighton i360 observatory tower' which is expected to be finished in 2016.
More about these landmarks on the following posts.
Till then, let the pics reveal the beauty of the town!

Hope you are enjoying your summer vocation and getting tanned!
Kiss kiss, hug hug,
Litsiana K.
